Beer review: Ayinger Bräuweisse (5.1% Germany: Brauerei Aying)

The Ayinger Bräuweisse is a wheat beer, more specifically a Hefeweizen. It is brewed by Brauerei Aying, a medium-sized family-owned brewery in Germany, Aying, a small village near München. The brewery was founded in 1878 and has been owned by the Inselkammer family the whole time. Let's see what this wheat beer has to offer!

Taste: The Ayinger Bräuweisse is a very pleasant wheat beer with a medium-bodied flavor. It starts off with a sweet banana flavor which is then surpassed by a herbal citric hoppiness and a faint wheaty flavor. The aftertaste of the beer is very pleasant mixture of sweetness and the herbal hoppiness.

Overall, the Ayinger Bräuweisse is a well-balanced, great wheat beer, which offers all the things that I desire in a wheat beer. The only thing that the beer could offer more is the taste of wheat. However, all things considered it's among the best wheat beers I've come across.
